Forman CBQ Depot Moved to Vienna
2000 - 2018 2000
Clarence Allbritten offered to donate the former Forman CB&Q depot so that it could be preserved. Gary Hacker, president of the Johnson County Historical and Genealogical Society immediately accepted the donation. Clifford Veach purchased the building in 1942 from the railroad and moved to his farm saving it from being razed. Mr. Allbritten bought the Veach farm and kept the roof intact thereby enabling its restoration. The building was moved by Kennedy Brothers Movers of Metropolis. The new home is the Vienna city park next to the Tunnel Hill Trail visitors center. 2018

Marion Illinois Central Depot Rises From Ashes
1977 - 2019 1977
Article by O. R. Walley states that sparks left from welding maintenance may have caused the blaze. Two acetylene tanks exploded creating a tornado of blue flames through the structure. The blueprints for Marion, Indiana were used to build this structure while the other town received a smaller building. A follow up piece stated the Crab Orchard and Egyptian Railroad planned to continue operation of its tour train using a caboose as an office. 2019
